Shake Shack Macro Calculator FAQ
Shake Shack publishes a full nutrition PDF with calories and macros for every menu item, but doesn't offer an interactive calculator for custom builds. This tool lets you build your exact Shake Shack order and instantly see calories, protein, carbs, and fat.
A Single ShackBurger is 500 calories with 29g of protein. The Double is 760 calories with 51g of protein, and the Triple is 1,020 calories with 74g of protein. The Double is the best protein-per-calorie value of the three.
The Single Hamburger is the lightest burger at 370 calories with 25g of protein. Going with a lettuce wrap instead of the potato bun drops it to 195 calories — same protein, just without the bun.
The Triple SmokeShack leads at 80g of protein, followed by the Triple Bacon Cheeseburger and Triple Avocado Bacon Burger at 80–81g. For a more reasonable order, the Double SmokeShack delivers 58g of protein at 860 calories.
Shake Shack is not halal certified in the United States. The beef and chicken are all-natural with no added hormones or antibiotics, but the meat is not prepared according to halal standards. Some international Shake Shack locations are halal — check with your specific location.
Shake Shack has limited vegan options. The Veggie Shack uses a veggie patty but contains egg and dairy. The Garden Dog is the closest thing to a vegan-friendly item at 180 calories, though cross-contact with animal products in the kitchen is possible.
Shake Shack offers a Gluten Free Bun at 160 calories as a substitute for the standard potato bun. Shake Shack kitchens are not gluten-free environments — cross-contact is possible, so confirm with staff if you have celiac disease or a serious gluten sensitivity.
Regular Fries are 470 calories. Cheese Fries are 710 calories and Bacon Cheese Fries are 850 calories. Beer Battered Onion Rings come in at 570 calories. Regular fries are the only side that stays under 500 calories.
Shakes range from 680 calories (Vanilla) to 850 calories (Cookies & Cream), with 16–19g of protein from the custard base. Adding malt adds 90 calories. The floats are lighter — Root Beer Float and Creamsicle Float are both 440–470 calories.
From a macro standpoint they're similar. A Shake Shack Single ShackBurger is 500 calories and 29g protein. An In-N-Out Double-Double is around 670 calories and 37g protein. Shake Shack tends to run higher in sodium; In-N-Out is generally cheaper. Both use fresh, never-frozen beef.
